April 23 – May 7
Mad Mex is featuring Pizza Boy Brewing Co. for the very first time. Established in Enola, PA (just across the Susquehanna from Harrisburg) by owner Al Kominski in the basement of his namesake restaurant, Pizza Boy has expanded three times in the past few years, riding a wave of sours like mango-blasted Alphonso and experimental barrel-aged brews.
Exclusive to Mad Mex and new to the world, It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad Mex IPA will be a hazy IPA double dry hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Mosaic and Falconers’ Flight blend of C hops. Head brewer Terry Hawbaker just sent us this description:
It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad Mex IPA, 7% ABV
Brewed for our good friends at Mad Mex, this deliciously juicy IPA is brewed from a grist of Pils, Pale, Oat and Spelt malts with a touch of Caramel 15 malt for body and sweetness. Hopped to infinity and back with Simcoe, Amarillo, Mosaic and Falconers’ Flight 7 C’s for a bright, tropical nose and flavor that’s filled with pineapple, mango, dense pine and grapefruit rind.
We’ll also tap Magic Under Where IPA, serving them in big 22oz drafts for just $5 all day.
Pizza Boy was recently named “Most underrated brewery in Pennsylvania” by Thrillist.com.
